In today's age of information being contactable by email has become an necescity and this is never more important than when looking for a job. Email is the ideal way for a potential employer to contact you during work hours. They don't run the risk of getting you in to trouble at work by ringing during the day, they don't have to stay back after work so that they can catch you on the phone aftre you have finished work. An of course it is faster than posting you a letter if they just want to know a little more about you.

It's a two way street though being contacted by email rather than phone is great for you too. It means you can think about your response and make sure you don't say something stupid on the spur of the moment because you really want the job, you know the sort of thing I mean "yes i'll be happy to work every Saturday forthe rest of my life"

With all the benefits putting your email address ob your C.V. or Resume brings there is a downside, in fact there are several. The first of course is silly email addresses "hotstuff", "biglad" etc. You may have had that email address since you were a kid and check it everyday, so you think that it will be ideal. Think again! Sifting through a pile is an arduos boring job especially if you have hundreds. the first thing an employer does is not look for the people they want to interview but scan all the applications for the people they want to dump, having the email address goodtimes@hotmail.com is not going to help your cause!
